26 Jul The Raddison Blu’s Vegan Menu
The Raddison Blu Sandton Hotel has just launched their deluxe, vegan 4 course, fine dining meal for R395 pp.
I was lucky enough to receive a sample of each course, for the purpose of this review. What I can tell you about the taster is that it was definitely very moreish, bursting with flavour, and it was a warm tummy filler for these cold winter days in.
- we started off with the well seasoned crispy fried chickpeas – I could’ve eaten a kg of these. They were crispy, full of flavour and even had a little heat on them. I could enjoy these as a healthy, yet filling snack!
- next up we tried the homemade vegan sweet potato bread loaf. It was fresh, surprisingly light and delicious. I expected a potato based bread to be heavier. We had this feather-light bread, with the sundried tomato chimmichurri. It was soooo fresh and flavoursome. Perfect for a winger picnic in the lounge by the fireplace, or for a date night out. You could really taste the fresh tomato and basil in the chimmichurri – this was my fave!
- our main was the thyme & black garlic gnocchi with the organic mushroom sauce 😍 this dish left me speechless. All I can say is yum!
-we finished off with a light and airy Mexican lime zest and coconut tart. This dessert was fresh and tasty. While I usually opt for chocolate desserts, this one was fresh and tasty!
