16 Sep The Bull Run Restaurant
it’s a Sher thing was invited to a #HelloRecommends dinner with Hello Joburg Magazine. We were treated to the unveiling of the Bronze Bull statue as well as a decadent dinner at the Bull Run Restaurant. Located in the heart of Sandton, one of South Africa’s richest square miles and opposite the JSE, the Bull Run was a pleasant surprise of culinary excellence. This quintessential grill house has reopened after three months of extensive refurbishments. R20 million worth of refurbishments, to be more specific. It’s well decorated, luxurious setting, tantalising menu and dollar named bar make this restaurant a must visit.
The bronze bull sculpture, is the work of sculptor Michael Canadas and measures three meters by two meters. The raging bull exemplifies the powerful dynamism of the financial district. The financial theme is carried through in décor celebrating the masculine aesthetic. Diners can recline in the ox-leather seats and compare prices of sumptuous steaks in foreign currencies. Over its 18 years of existence, The Bull Run has built up an impressive list of clients, including business leaders, international sports people, politicians, and music and movie stars. This is sure to grow with the relaunch of the iconic restaurant
The Bull Run is designed to be a place where career-orientated adults can enjoy the finer things in life, such as great wines and delicious food in-between their busy days of having meetings, closing deals and celebrating successes. The Bull Run caters to guests young professionals, foodies, Sandton residents and foreigners. The design is sophisticated with a pop of colour.
The Bull Run offers a 14 page wine list, a selection of unique G&T’s, sangria’s and adult milkshakes.
The Bull Run has a host of happy staff, who are attentive and well-informed about their cuisine. They also make excellent recommendations and the food was brought timeously.
True to its motto, “A wealth of good taste”, The Bull Run offers an impeccably curated selection of steaks, wines and cocktails, as well as breakfasts and light meals. Their biltong salads are also scrumptious.
