04 Jun News Cafe – it’s a Vibe
I remember popping down to my local News Cafe on a Saturday afternoon, the guys would watch the rugby and us girls would sip on colourful cocktails and dance to the live band. It was such a vibe! Then I finished University and started working and stopped going to my local hangout. I don’t know why I ever stopped?
it’s a Sher thing was invited to come through the past weekend and I was pleasantly surprised, it’s just as fun as I remember it! We went to News Cafe Rivonia, the staff were super friendly, the drinks were as delicious as they are colourful and the shots were just as potent as I remember them being. The live band also added to the vibe. People go there to have fun, so that’s what you do, you have fun there, it’s awesome.
We had some afternoon snacks – I had the strawberry and haloumi salad, it had almond flakes and avo on it which gave it just the right amount of crunch and deliciousness, it went beautifully with the balsamic reduction. Dyllan had the rack of lamb with tzaziki, pita bread and a warm butternut salad. The food is delicious and filling. The cocktails weren’t just pretty to look at, they were well balanced, light and refreshing. They’re a really great size too and they have a generous amount of booze in them. You only need 1 or 2 to create a festive vibe.
Fridays are their busiest nights and they have a live band on Sundays. Go on down to your nearest News Cafe and be the vibe!
