in 10 questions

Are you married?

Yes, I have been with my husband since 2017 and we have been married since 2021.

Dyllan is studying to become an orthopedic surgeon, he has conducted extensive research within his field and has presented it at congresses both in South Africa and abroad.

He’s won awards for his papers, and he’s even had them published in local and international medical journals – we are very proud of his accomplishments.

What star sign are you?

I’m a Libra, which is why I love balance and settings that are aesthetically pleasing.

Favourite food:

I love eating! So gastraonmic food that looks too good to eat is very much up my ally, but for every day eating I love seafood, pasta, braai’s and a hearty stew!

How do you unwind?

I wish I could say that I unwind by cooking, cleaning, or exercising, but no.

I enjoy watching true crime series while snacking on something delicious and sipping on something cold, I find the minds of serial killers fascinating.

My creative writing is a great outlet for harbored emotions and some beauty treatments such as a luxe massage, a rubber base mani, or a hydrating facial go a long way.

For something simpler, I enjoy hot, candle-lit bubble baths, with all the beautifully fragranced trimmings, or enjoying a delicious meal that I haven’t had to cook, is how I relax and unwind.

What do you do for a living?

I have worked in the Public Relations industry since 2010.

I give strategic business counsel to brands, write strategy and project manage their campaigns.

My role encompasses reputation management, CEO profiling and crisis comms.

When did you become a mom?

On 21 August 2022, I was 33 years old.

My baby girl was born at 37 weeks via emergency caesarean and she is a Leo.

Tell us about yourself:

I am the oldest of three girls. I grew up in Durban but I’ve lived in JHB since I was about 16.

I am a huge foodie, at times an avid baker and I love playing with makeup and trying new looks.

What are your favourite flowers?

Proteas, especially Pink King Protea’s, these were in my wedding bouquet. I also love sunflowers, peonies and roses.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

I love sweets guys! So soft gummies, chocolate, all that good stuff and I’m there.

I also love a fresh fragrance, a new makeup palette, a new handbag, or a unique experience.

I guess I’m just a lover of things and experiences

What are your passion points?

My passion points are centered around career, beauty, and female empowerment. My career, and more importantly, my financial independence has always been a priority for me.

At the end of the day, money gives you freedom, comfort and for me, a degree of happiness.

“I’m not saying it’s right, but I place some of my self-worth/self-value on how much money I earn.’’

Becoming wealthy, and comfortable is a priority for me, which is why I make so many sacrifices and juggle so many different ventures at the same time. Beauty is a passion point, as it’s how I unwind.

The better you look, the better you feel and the better you perform at work.

Something as simple as a hot bubble bath, a hydrating sheet mask, or a fresh spray tan can give you the mindset re-start that you may have been craving.

Female empowerment is another passion point, especially in a country like SA, where GBV is a tough reality and doesn’t look like it’s slowing down, any time soon.

Empowerment for me is education, awareness, and action. Understanding that there are different forms of GBV, such as financial GBV, so educating women to have their own source of income no matter how small, is vital.

Sexual health is another form of female empowerment. Women are sexualised and owning that sexuality instead of being afraid of it, can only empower you and your mindset.
