Pink for Purpose: Clover customers can help drive breast cancer awareness

Clover is introducing “Pink for Purpose,” an inspiring initiative that entails a transformation of some of Clover’s beloved dairy products into limited-edition pink packaging throughout the month of October. Among these special products are our 2-liter Fresh Full Cream Milk and Low Fat Milk, 2-liter Ultra Pasteurized Fresh Full Cream Milk and Low Fat Milk, and the 250ml Fresh Cream, collectively referred to as “Pink Clover Products.” The purpose behind this transformation is to raise awareness about breast cancer, as well as to educate and motivate the public to undergo early detection tests for this life-altering disease.

For every purchase of a Pink Clover Product, Clover will generously contribute 20 cents towards the PinkDrive. This invaluable contribution aids in the ongoing battle against breast cancer, helping PinkDrive raise funds towards acquiring a state-of-the-art mammogram machine valued at R 3 million. This crucial machine plays a pivotal role in supporting PinkDrive’s mission to conduct screenings for the early detection of breast cancer.

In a remarkable gesture of solidarity, consumers can also show their support for this life-saving cause. They can simply scan a QR code found on the packaging, point-of-sale touchpoints, or even on Clover’s social media profiles to make a donation of their choice if they wish to contribute further.

Noelene Kotschan, CEO & Founder of PinkDrive, emphasizes the urgency of early detection through screening as a means to improve breast cancer survival rates. In South Africa, breast cancer remains the most prevalent cancer among women, yet the survival rate stands at a mere 40%. In higher-income countries, this rate soars to 70%. This stark disparity underscores the importance of early detection, which can save lives. PinkDrive’s mission is to prolong lives through early detection, striving to prevent as many people as possible from succumbing to gender-related cancers.

Kotschan stresses the essence of time when it comes to cancer detection and treatment. With symptoms potentially taking years to manifest, early detection becomes a lifeline, offering individuals a fighting chance for survival through timely intervention. Recognizing the critical importance of early detection, Clover’s support not only raises awareness but also provides medically uninsured South Africans with the opportunity to get tested.

The heart of this campaign beats with the intention to set off a ripple effect of change with every drop of Pink Clover Product. Every person’s participation, big or small, makes a substantial difference and shines a spotlight on the commendable efforts of PinkDrive during this breast cancer awareness month.

Jani Menikou, Clover’s Brand Group Manager, shares, “Cancer is a stark reality that has touched countless lives, whether through personal experiences or the experiences of loved ones. In acknowledgment of the profound impact of cancer on our communities, Clover is proud to join forces with PinkDrive, a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to creating awareness through education and early detection.”

This collaboration underscores Clover’s unwavering commitment to supporting vital initiatives that address pressing health concerns. PinkDrive’s relentless efforts in the fight against cancer align seamlessly with Clover’s mission to make a positive difference in the lives of its employees, consumers, and the broader community.

Through this meaningful partnership, Clover and PinkDrive are resolute in their mission to make a difference in the fight against cancer. They aim to provide support not only to those currently battling the disease but also to work toward a future with fewer cancer diagnoses.

Clover extends a heartfelt invitation to its employees, consumers, and the wider community to join in this noble cause. Together, we can raise awareness, promote early detection, and make a profound impact where it truly matters.
