Personal Review: The PMD

by | Apr 24, 2022

PMD Beauty is a premier beauty company that offers smart and aesthetically pleasing beauty tools and skincare that inspire and build #BrilliantConfidence. These beauty tools are always safe, and convenient, and they use smart and patented technology. The PMD Clean is a smart facial cleansing device. I’ve been trying this device for the past 2.5 months and this is what I thought about it.

This beauty accessory arrives in a cardboard box and is then housed in a sturdy portable, plastic box. This makes the device easy to transport, for those overnight business trips, trips to your sisters’ house, or romantic bae-cations. This clear travel case is valued at R400.

First impressions, I like that the device is feminine and available in blush pink. It has a great feminine energy about it that immediately makes you want to use it. If pink isn’t your colour, then please note that this tool is also available in white. So it’s sure to match any vanity case and bathroom. It is sturdy and heavier than I expected, which makes it feel like it’s a great quality item, not something flimsy that will break after a few uses.

The accessory is made from a sterilised silicone and houses tiny little bristles on the front of the brush, and a gorgeous rose quartz stone at the back. This is the most unique beauty accessory I’ve ever seen and it’s something that you definitely want to use and look after. This hand-held tool has space for a rechargeable battery, and it can stand on its own, in order to take up less space.

Product benefits:

  • The tiny bristles break down oil and dirt from within the pores
  • The vibrations firm, lift and tone the skin
  • This device is patent-pending
  • The device offers an ActiveWarmth facial massager
  • The rose quartz stone reduces tension and inflammation

My experience:

The tiny bristles at the front of the brush are soft on the skin. They gently break down dirt and oil from within the pores at 7,000 vibrations per minute. Used with the correct cleanser, this device is powerful enough to remove all of your makeup too. However, I would recommend using a makeup remover first and then washing your face with a cleanser and this tool. For me, this is more so that I don’t discolour the device, but if that’s not a concern for you, then you can probably use it directly on your skin with makeup on it. Silicone bristles are naturally anti-bacterial, ultra-hygienic, odour resistant, hypoallergenic, and waterproof.

This beauty tool offers four customisable brush modes so that there are personalised options for each skincare type. You can use the tool for cleansing purposes by either using a gentle or intense vibration. It is recommended to use this device twice daily to cleanse the skin for a fresh, radiant look. The tool can also be used for anti-aging purposes, with its gentle or intense pulsation offerings. This setting can be used along with ActiveWarmth technology by pressing the back button. I would recommend using the massager daily for anti-aging effects.

After the first use, your skin feels touchably soft, like you’ve just had a salon-quality facial. The vibrations lift, firm, and tone the skin, however, I cannot say that I’ve seen a noticeable difference just yet. I can attest to the fact that my skin is smoother, my makeup applies and glides on smoother, I have fewer hormonal breakouts and I get compliments about the glow that I now have on my skin.

This accessory offers an ActiveWarmth facial massager which is like an in-salon experience, especially in these cooler months. After my bubble bath, my skincare regime is now a treat and not a chore.

The device needs to be charged for a few hours a week, so on a Sunday night, I allow it to charge overnight, and then it’s good to go for the rest of the week. Make sure you charge it for about 3h before its first use.

As most of you know, I am 5 months pregnant and since becoming pregnant my skin has changed slightly. It’s dryer than usual, and it’s a little more sensitive, so I am more cautious than ever about what I use on it and I can tell you that I haven’t had any adverse reactions from using this device. No pain, breakouts, sensitivity, burns, nothing like that. I’ve only enjoyed using it and wanted to continue using it. I hereby endorse this product, based on my positive, personal experience with it.

The rose quartz stone is a facial massager and consists of elements including magnesium, iron, and oxygen, aiding in reducing inflammation and tension. All I know is that the rose quartz stone is beautiful to look at, feels great on the skin, and makes you feel pampered. The experience can be summed up as an ultimate pamper.

There’s an ActiveWarmth power button on the handle of the tool, so you have the option to use the stone warm or cold on your skin. I like using a cold stone in the mornings to reduce puffiness and a warm stone in the evenings before bed. The tool is also waterproof, so you can use it in the shower while your intensely nourishing hair mask activates.
