A few weeks back, I was invited to the launch of Wiink cosmetics in Randburg – read more about them here
I purchased three products from the store and this is what I thought of them:
Lulu & Marula Cleansing balm (R360):
This is the most luxurious facial cleanser. It smells unreal, like the essential oils that are in it, its creamy and hydrating, yet it doesn’t feel like it is clogging your pores, and it’s strong enough to take off waterproof mascara/eyeliner. It’s a great, oil-based makeup remover. This cleansing balm offers a balm-to-milk technology that effectively emulsifies make-up and daily impurities to leave skin clean, soft, and glowing.
Unlike traditional cleansers that can be unnecessarily harsh and foamy, this gal comes as a solid balm that melts onto your skin, and washes off while still protecting your skin’s natural moisture barrier, imparting anti-oxidant properties. You won’t get that skin-tight feeling like you’ve just sticky-taped your face into weird positions, but rather like you’ve woken up from a glorious nap on a bed of puppies.
Bentonite clay adds an extra detoxifying element, while Sweet Orange, Bergamot, and Neroli warms your spirit and instills balance, creating the ultimate ritual to start and end your day. I would 100% purchase this again, and again, and again. A bottle lasts me about 3 months, which makes it pretty affordable too.
Stila highlighter in kitten (R610):
This bouncy-to-the-touch, radiance-enhancing highlighter now has a game-changing twist! Achieve a brilliant, light-catching effect, without the tackiness.
Unique translucent base allows light to illuminate the pearlescent shimmers and micro-fine glitters in our gossamer-light hybrid cream/powder base creating a hyper-lustrous, glistening effect with a barely-there feel. Use alone or layer over your favorite Heaven’s Hue Highlighter shades for an amped-up sheen. For added sparkle, tap onto lip color for a dazzling effect! Ultra-fine, light-diffusing particles help skin look lit from within with a soft, luminous, natural-looking glow.
I’ve only read good reviews about this highlighter, which is why I felt like I HAD to try it. It’s a lovely, highly pigmented highlighter, that comes in gorgeous packaging. But I didn’t feel it was worth the price tag. I am enjoying it, but I wouldn’t purchase it again, I think that Revlon skinlights highlighter is just as good and it costs a fraction of the price.
Nannacoco liquid eyeliner (R129):
I like that you can achieve intense detail with the Thick or Thin Liquid Eyeliner in this range. This 2-in-1 product features a slanted felt tip to ensure thick or thin intense black lines every time. Their liquid liner is crease-free, quick-drying, water-proof, and long-lasting. Keep your liner looking flawless as your days turn into nights and nights turn into days. I enjoyed this range and would re-purchase it. I would go for the thicker version next time though.
