Three tantalising fragrances

We may be cooped up at home, during the third wave of the pandemic. Wearing business blouses and tweed blazers on the top, and thick tracksuit pants and winter socks on our bottom halves, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t still need to smell great, if for no one else, for ourselves. The better we look (and smell), the better we feel about ourselves and I’m pretty sure that extra self-confidence makes us perform better too. The most difficult decision you should be making, is whether you’d like a floral fragrance, a zesty citrus scent, or something a little more vanilla. Below are three tantalising fragrances to consider adding to your beauty regime.

Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb:

This is a spicy, floral, sweet, dewy explosion of the senses. Flowerbomb is an explosive floral bouquet which gives rise to an ultra-feminine, delicious, and sensual fragrance. It’s an unexpected mix of cattleyas, rose petals, hundreds of sambac jasmine, freesia, patchouli, and vanilla. This fragrance smells like a drop of fresh flowers, with the power of a dewy, floral explosion to amplify femininity, to the mysterious floral sensation to transform your world, through Flowerpower.

Flowerbomb EDP Spray is available at Edgars and 30ml retails for R1,460.00

Giorgio Armani Prive Cypres Pantelleria EDT:

This is a fresh fragrance uniting an invigorating aquatic strength with the aromatic elegance of Cypress, inspired by the raw nature of Pantelleria. This EDT evokes the essence of the island, fusing the fresh scent of cypress trees and seafoam, brought together by an invigorating breeze, distilled into an energising fresh fragrance. The scent opens with a dazzling, zesty luminosity, thanks to a harmony of citrus notes of mandarin, bergamot, and cedrat, fusing with floral neroli. While mineral amber woods intertwine with intense oakmoss accord, patchouli and vetiver create a wood foam sensation. This fragrance is presented in the iconic and distinctive square bottle, luminously elegant and topped by a shiny black lacquered cap. Finely hued in a fresh green bottle, the scent’s-coloured juice echoes its inspiration and key ingredients, brought to the fore thanks to the transparency of the glass bottle. The fragrance’s name is engraved in black lettering on the flacon’s shiny gold plate.

Available at Edgars from September 2021, R3,200 for 100ml

Valentino, Born in Roma:

These two fragrances are made for both men and women. This olfactory celebration infuses vanilla bourbon, and a trio of jasmine flowers, with a cool kick of pink pepper. These are some of the most expensive ingredients in haute perfumery. It’s a lovely blend of aromatic sage, smoked vetiver, warm ginger, and the coolness of salt. These fragrances are an ode to self-celebration.

Available at Edgars and select Truworths stores R1,840 for 50ml
