We reviewed two gorgeous hair salons, and we are here to give you the lowdown. One salon is in Pretoria and the other one is in Joburg, and this was what our experience was like.

Carbon hair salon can be found in the heart of Hyde Park, Johannesburg. In Hyde Square, Jan Smuts Avenue, Dunkeld West to be specific. This centre is perfectly positioned next to Glenda’s. So, pop in for a gorgeous treatment and blow-dry, before your brunch date next door. This award-winning salon (2020 Best Interior Design Award by Hairnews), Carbon, supports a range of healthy, haircare brands including Kevin Murphy, Mizani, Redken, Pureology, and Mykro Keratin. They also do gelish mani’s and pedi’s, so you really can leave the salon, looking like your absolute best self.
This hair salon is beautiful, modern, open plan, boasts loads of natural light. It flows perfectly from the parking lot, onto the restaurants, and then onto the hair salon. You can enjoy an artisanal coffee from any of the restaurants around you, the centre also offers complimentary parking, and the parking lot is a few meters away from the salon, so you do not need to worry about a long walk / getting lost on your way to your appointment. The salon sports a modern aesthetic, with greenery on the walls and a neon Carbon light in the middle of the salon.
The stylist who worked on my hair was Boyd, he did a full head of highlights, a treatment and a blowdry on my hair. Inoar Lifestyle Centre:
The Inoar Lifestyle centre can be found in Brooklyn, Pretoria. This centre is a haven for women to pamper themselves. You can experience Inoar haircare products, aesthetics (micro-needling, botox, fillers, etc), and beauty treatments (mani’s, pedi’s, eyelash extensions, etc). This is a beautifully designed space, filled with natural light. Visitors can enjoy Asmara coffee, freshly pressed juices, and gourmet sandwiches and cakes from the coffee shop (along with free Wi-fi).
Grab some fresh air while your colour sets, by enjoying your lunch in the beautiful, shady courtyard. Next door is a store retailing premium stonewear, porcelain and glassware. As well as leather fashionwear such as Haki original Swahili handbags. The colour scheme is reminiscent of a lush botanical scene with hues of floral pink and green, subtly layered on the surfaces of walls and in window and door openings. The materials of the bespoke furniture in the reception, café and salon consists of velvet upholstery, walnut timber and green marble, with fine detailing in brass serving as the “jewellery” of the design items. This really is a one stop shop, in the heart of Brooklyn, Pretoria.

At this salon, they did halo highlights around my face, a toner, cut my hair from long over my shoulders length to a bouncy bob, and finished it off with a blowdry. I also tasted their coffee which was a 10/10. I also enjoyed one of their chicken sandwiches, which was also outstanding and highly recommended. This style was done in mid-May 2021.
