When I first heard that ghd was launching a hot brush, I immediately thought of my mother (and grandmother), sitting with a hot curling brush, and curlers, in front of their dressing tables, creating big, beautiful hair. This is such a glamorous image in my mind.
But oh, how wrong I was…. The ghd rise is not your mother’s hot brush. This is a new, elegant take, on a classic haircare tool. The rise creates fun, flirty, waves that represent elegance, grace, and sex appeal. This haircare hero is great for flat, fine hair that needs a little volume. The ghd rise creates 2x more volume, which lasts all day long, from root to tip. This is done through a combination of SMART ultra-zone technology and 5mm nylon bristles for maximum root lift.
The advanced infinity sensor within the barrel ensures an optimum styling temperature of 185ºC is consistently maintained throughout styling, whilst the smooth-touch bristles allow for close contact at the root creating instant volume. This device has been designed to style dry hair, and glides effortlessly through the lengths of your hair, adding full-length body with fullness and bounce. No matter your hair type or length, you can style chic waves, fierce flicks, and bombshell curls with ease and speed.
The ghd rise hot brush feels balanced in hand, with a sleek, tapered barrel for comfortable styling and a 2.7m swivel cord for total ease of use. With a soft stand to protect the bristles from damage and surfaces, you can style care-free. All rise for the queens – rule the world with high-glamour volume, courtesy of the ghd rise hot brush.
I have long, wavy hair, and got the hang of this tool on my first try. My advice to you, wash and dry your hair, apply a heat protector, curl your hair and then apply a root lifter. This method created soft, bouncy curls in minutes. I looked like I had just had a fresh, bouncy blow-dry by the time I was done with this device. If you crave volumised hair but aren’t too hair-tech savvy then you may enjoy this new hair tool, as it really is user-friendly.
I was concerned about the brush getting stuck in my hair (and frying it off) but that didn’t happen. It was easy to navigate and didn’t burn my hair at any point. I’ve since cut my hair to shoulder length and do find the device equally as easy to use, I was worried that it may be harder, but it wasn’t.
This brush is ideal for quickly smoothing and shaping a fringe, which comes in handy. What’s more, it works perfectly on a refreshing second (or third) day hair, meaning you can go longer in-between washes. The short nylon bristles mean hair doesn’t get tangled in the brush, which I really appreciate. The round barrel makes waves and curls easy to achieve but it can also be used to straighten and smooth hair.
