A tasty feel-good cause: The Cadbury Glass and A Half Project

The spirit of generosity

By now, I’m sure you’ve seen the gorgeous purple wrapped Cadbury chocolates in the shops right? If you’re wondering what this new packaging is all about, let me tell you. It’s for a feel-good chocolatey cause you would definitely like to support! Personally, I love projects that are easy to support because the product range is so delicious, it’s something you would purchase regardless.

The spirit of generosity is alive and well in sunny South Africa. It’s evident in the many selfless acts of kindness that we witness people doing on a daily basis. Especially during this lockdown period – restaurants have opened their kitchens to feed the hungry and more.

Even though we are experiencing unprecedented times, there is a connectedness and kindness that shines through us all. We are all stronger together. Cadbury Dairy Milk recognises this as a ‘spirit of generosity.’ and is tapping into this goodness to help give the precious gift of childhood to orphaned and vulnerable children through the Glass & a Half Project. Because now more than ever we cannot underestimate the importance of play.

The importance of play

Cadbury Dairy Milk understands that Play is the language of childhood. Through play, children begin to understand their physical world. They become aware of their environment and learn to communicate with other children and adults.  Play helps children learn to solve problems, enriches their creativity, and develops leadership skills. It’s a form of stimulation that wires their brain.

I know I used to spend hours outside with my sisters. Pretending to go on adventures around the garden. Pretending to be a teacher and a chef – the imagination and the power of play truly is a magical gift!

How you can get involved

Cadbury Dairy Milk has launched The Glass and A Half Project and they would like to encourage everyone to participate. For a limited time, when you purchase one of five 80g or 150g Cadbury Dairy Milk variants, wrapped in special edition sleeves, you will help give the precious gift of childhood by contributing towards R1-million worth of educational toys, books, and games, to orphaned and vulnerable children across South Africa.
