January 2020 marks the start of a new month, a new year and a new decade. One thing I’m hoping to focus more on this year is self-care. There are a million and one ways to do this, but one thing I’m doing this year is having more soaks in the bath. With Epsom salts, with scented crystals and bath oils and with moisturising bath-bombs too.
If you’ve ever walked past a Lush store the scent alone will draw you in, however what keeps me coming back is their focus on being cruelty-free, 100% vegetarian, 80% vegan, their products are handmade and they use naked packaging.
Below are 3 bath bombs that have caught my eye recently:
Christmas may have come and gone but I’m still happy to let Rudolph guide me to the perfect relaxing bath! What can you expect from Rudolph? His bright nose will fizz away in the water releasing cozy benzoin and rose to create a super snuggly bath that smells like the sweetest festive marzipan. Cocoa butter ensures that your skin will be left feeling soft and cared for (I’m so here for this).
Groovy kind of love (R74,50):
This year is filled with good intentions which is exactly why I’m keen to fill my bathtub up with rainbow colours, peace, love and positivity – melting into rings of rainbow colour (insert heart eyes emoji), Groovy Kind Of Love is built with trippy hippies in mind. Flower children will fall for this combination of rosewood, bergamot and ylang-ylang oil, which will lift spirits and leave your skin toned, balanced and refreshed.
Turtle Jelly Bomb (R89,00):
Grab this naked Jelly Bomb, run a bath to tropical temperatures and set it free, safe in the knowledge that no marine life will be harmed as this bath bomb is completely naked in terms of packaging. Lower her into the water and relax under the bright green blanket as skin-softening jelly spreads on the surface. Cypress and sandalwood oils keep you grounded while the scent of pine absolute refreshes your body and senses. From the belly of the beast, agar agar strands emerge, floating in the water as a reminder of the threat sea turtles face. Cut back on plastic and go naked.
What are your favourite bath bombs right now?
