CBD oil is the new kid on the block at the moment, this ‘wonder drug’ is the buzzword on everyone’s’ lips at the moment and I think it’s here to stay in 2020. Let’s discuss what CBD is one of the cannabinoids found inside the cannabis plant. Not to be confused with THC which is the main psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis (this is what gets you high). To be clear, CBD is not psychoactive.
Why is CBD an attractive option? Because it gives users relief from pain, anxiety, acne, and other symptoms without the mind-altering effects that the THC in marijuana offers. CBD oil is made by extracting CBD from the cannabis plant and then diluting it with a carrier oil like coconut oil.
This drug is making waves in the health and beauty industry and that’s exactly why I’ll be using it.
Three CBD products you’ll see me use in 2020:
- CBD Bath Bombs: Designed to leave you feeling relaxed, and ready for bed. This is the perfect addition to my bedtime routine as I struggle to fall asleep at night, the bath bombs with lavender oil in them will be my first choice. I already use bath bombs for their moisturizing properties (and beauty benefits), I love that a CBD bath bomb encompasses the healing properties of CBD in them too. These are about R90 each and each variant has a different value offering.
- CBD Repair Cream: Designed to be used as a daily moisturizer this cream is hypo-allergenic, anti-aging and restores the skin’s natural elasticity. CBD is a superfood for the skin that aids in cell reproduction and skin rejuvenation. The healing properties of CBD aids with improving and soothing irritated skin inhibits collagen degradation, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, relieves it of pain caused by arthritis, acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Available for R325 for 100ml.
- Oral spray: I’ll be using this spray to help with my anxiety, I like that it’s conveniently packaged in a spray bottle and is completely flavorless. This spray assists in the treatment of anxiety, stress, ADHD, soothes tremors for people with Parkinson’s, increases energy, protects the brain and a reduction in epilepsy seizures. It’s R450 for 250MG
