I know this post may seem a little early, but with only 45 sleeps left until 2020 I thought I would get this post out before things got too busy. 2019 was a strange year for me, while there were some lows, the highs far outweighed them. I was determined to make 2019 my year and it certainly was.
This is what I got up to
Travel:
I went overseas twice! I went to Turkey in April and then to London, Amsterdam, and Paris in Oct/November. My goal is to go overseas at least once a year and I knocked this goal out the park. I got to tick sights like the Eiffel tower, Big Ben, the red light district, Buckingham Palace, Galata Tower, The Palace of Versailles and Tower Bridge off my bucket list. I simply adore traveling and will pick a trip to another city over a new handbag/car any day. Traveling is a feeling, a mindset, an awakening, an addiction for me.
Business-class:
I flew business class for the first time and it was absolutely sensational, I cannot wait to do that again! There are a few things that are on my bucket list, some I want to experience now and others that can wait. Flying business class makes your travels that much better. The bed is comfy, the food is tastier, you get a mattress and a table cloth and those roasted nuts are everything, I chose to fly with Emirates and I totally get why everyone says #FlyEmiratesFlyBetter P.S. Emirates if you need a brand ambassador/ someone to review your routes business/first class, even economy, I’m your girl!
Love:
I got engaged to the absolute love of my life! I cannot believe I’m going to be someone’s wife! Dyl and I had spoken about getting engaged but it always felt like something that would happen later, so when it happened it was a welcomed surprise. I’m so in love, I’m so happy, I cannot believe after all my heartache, this is finally my reality. I got the fairytale in the end! We’ve spent the last 6 months enjoying being engaged, being in love and living our lives. Now, to start planning the wedding – Send me your tips and tricks please and I’ll share mine too.
I turned 30!
I was actually really nervous for this one, I thought 30 was ‘so old’ until I turned 30. I don’t know what I expected, but I’m feeling so much happier and more confident. I’m so grateful to my friends and family for making my special day so incredible! I love you guys and to you all, who sent me messages, I appreciate you all, so, so much!
I celebrated 1 year of being self-employed:
Being self-employed is no easy feat and it’s certainly not for the faint-hearted. I signed up some incredible clients, I lost a few clients and I made a million great memories along the way. I also wrote a million op-eds that were published in the likes of Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Entrepreneur magazine, and All4Women to name a few. I reached my financial goal most months and I proved to myself that I’m an elegant force to be reckoned with.
It’s a Sher thing turns TWO:
I started my blog to start conversations that matter and to talk about things that I find interesting. To think that people read and enjoy my content on top of that is the biggest blessing and honour a girl could ever ask for.
I got an O-shot:
Yip, the cat is out of the bag, I got an O-shot with Dr.Kanaris. This procedure assists with self-lubrication, more intense orgasms and helps with pain during intercourse. Honestly, guys, it’s 2019, if you’re not taking care of, or talking about your vagina, YOU’RE the weirdo, not me.
I went blonde:
While I started going blonde last year, I went blonde blonde this year and I’m loving it. I don’t know if blondes have more fun, I think whoever wants to have the most fun has the most fun. Thanks to my amazing stylist, David Gillson of Carlton – Hyde Park, Rosebank, Melrose Arch, Constantia, and Issy’s in London. I know, he gets around.
Slow down:
This year I learned to slow down, I realised that I don’t need to work 24/7 to be considered successful. It’s ok to watch tv, have a nap and leave the dishes in the sink for a few days. While slowing down, I also got to meet the most amazing people, I ate at some of the most incredible restaurants and I got to work with some incredible brands!
There are still a couple more weeks left of 2019 and then tune in for the shenanigans that will start in 2020. You can look forward to more business talk, the wedding planning, more traveling, I think I’ll get botox next year and I may even start taking my fitness journey a little more seriously. Watch this space.
