I came across this little gem with one of my girlfriends, Cands. We popped in for some snacks and sundowners after a long, busy week and we were pleasantly surprised.
The snacks were divine, the drinks were delicious and the venue was completely insta-worthy.
Mushroom Park in Sandton Central is a great venue for meetings or after-work drinks, you can connect with nature, unwind, and socialise among the lush green lawns, under shady trees while waiting for the traffic to die down.

An extraordinary green hideaway in the heart of the Sandton Central business district, Mushroom Farm Park’s name echoes its history. According to The Heritage Portal, where the park stands today was a thriving mushroom farm and cannery which operated successfully during the 1950s and 1960s. It was named after the small stream on the property, known as ‘Silver Stream’.
Today the park boasts a fully equipped playground for the kids, a duck pond, amphitheater, rolling landscaped lawns and an outdoor gym. Popular with families for weekend picnics, dog walkers are also welcome to this park provided their fur friends are on a leash, and the neatly paved walkways are perfect for strollers or joggers. There are also tables, benches and clean public toilets available.
Mushroom Farm Park is also now more full of life than ever before. Sandton Market @ The Park has become a regular attraction.
