Hair Bliss with Schwarzkopf Gliss

by | Jan 9, 2019

Schwarzkopf is celebrating their 120th anniversary this year! That’s 120 years of beautiful hair, product innovation and happy customers. It also shows their staying power, in an industry that is ever changing and highly competitive, with so many new brands popping up all the time.

Happy Birthday Schwarzkopf – here’s to another 120 years of pushing the boundaries in innovation, excellence in efficacy and, of course creating beautiful trend-forward style.

Gliss Intense Therapy with Omegaplex is one of Schwarzkopf’s latest offerings. The Keratin bonding technology makes it the perfect solution for severely damaged hair. I’ve recently cut my hair shorter and coloured it lighter, which means my hair is a little dry and brittle at the moment. As someone who usually only purchases salon hair care products, I was a little sceptical at the start. The reason this range works so well is that it repairs the bonds of the hair, reconstructing from deep within. This means visibly revitalised locks that are also more resilient against future damage. When I wash my hair, I double cleanse with shampoo and then use conditioner on the top and a masque on the ends of my hair.

After using the Gliss Intense Therapy shampoo, conditioner and masque, my hair really did smell great, it was soft and easy to manage and it had a great shine to it. I was impressed. Truth be told, I found it works better than some of the salon brands in my beauty cabinet at the moment.

This isn’t my first encounter with the Schwarzkopf haircare range, I tried it years ago but at the time I didn’t feel it was ‘doing the most’ for my haircare needs. Truth be told, their latest formulation is working wonders for my current hair care needs. What’s changed you may ask? Why did it not work for me then, but it’s working for my dry, damaged hair now.

This brand is highly innovation and their formulations are updated every 2-3 years, in order to offer the best final product to the consumer. “The result is that the latest and best formulas – that really deliver – are in our products,” explains Henkel Business Unit Manager, Natalie Van Heerden. “For Schwarzkopf, innovation never sleeps.”

For that 2007 Avril Lavigne, dead-straight ghd look, try the GLISS Hair Repair with Liquid Keratin Ultimate Oil Elixir Oil Replacement. It does the things. It works great on my hair which is dry and pretty damaged at the moment. For someone with an oily sculp, I would recommend only applying this oil elixir to your ends.

Schwarzkopf has also just launched a Root Retoucher which was created to covers regrowth and greys until your next salon visit. With me being a freelancer and having my revenue streams come in in drips and drabs, this product has been a life saver. Buying me an extra few weeks before salon visits means I can get what I want done, when I go in and not what I can afford to get done.

I’m now looking forward to trying out the pink and blue version. I need to read up on what they all do and if they’re right for me, but I must say, the packaging is on point.

Are you going to break the bank to have healthy shiny hair? I don’t think so.
