2018, what a whirlwind of a year. This was my worst year and best year all rolled into one. 2018 is the year I figured out who I really am, what I really want and what I’m really made of.
Here are a few of my highlights and learnings from the year.
I turned 29:
Holy sh*t. I should totally have my act together by now right. You know what, I totally do, it may not just be in the traditional sense. My life hasn’t gone according to plan, but it’s been an amazing ride. I thought I would be married and have kids by now, while that hasn’t happened yet. I am dating an amazing guy, who just happens to be a doctor. If things go according to plan, I’ll be using the hashtag #MarriedToMedicine in a few years’ time. We moved into our own place together this year and have plans to travel and make a million memories together next year.
it’s a Sher thing:
My blog grew from strength to strength. I was able to work with amazing brands such as PANDORA, Halls, L’OCCITANE, Hug in a Mug, Kit-Kat, Kiki Milano, Elizabeth Arden and Phillips to name a few. My goal for 2019 is to win an award for my blog. Watch this space…
My Career:
In July this year, I resigned from my job. Where I had a monthly income and stability for the month ahead. I have always wanted to be my own boss, but I’ve always been scared to take the plunge. I told myself I’m almost 30, if I don’t do it now will I ever do it? So, I took the leap, truth be told, I had one foot in and one foot out. I went for a few interviews but never found anything that felt 100% right. A month later, I finally jumped into the deep end with both feet and it was glorious. I’ve been lucky enough to be earning what I was earning in corporate and I hope to take on new clients in 2019. So, for all your PR, eventing, press pack, influencer engagement and writing needs, look no further…
Love life:
2018 was the year I realised Dyllan is the one for me. Last year I was still deciding, we kept breaking up and things were very up in the air. He was my rock through a very difficult period, he supported me with the decision to freelance and he’s been my biggest supporter this year. He even turned out to be an under-cover Instagram husband. I’m so lucky to have Dyl, he helps me so much with the cooking, chores, drives me around, he’s my absolute best.
2018 came with its trials and tribulations but overall, it was one of my best years yet. 2019 I’m ready for ya!
What I’m looking forward to in 2019.
- Travelling
- Winning an award for my blog
- Taking on new beauty and lifestyle clients
I hope 2019 is everything you want it to be and more.
Lots of love xx
