Dermalogica makes it ok to be sensitive!

Ultra calming duo range

What does sensitive skin mean to you? Some people interpret it as mild, occasional flareups, while others have intense redness and discomfort. I occasionally have sensitive skin, but I would describe my experience as mild. I recently attended a Dermalogica event and realised that sensitivity affects every skin type. From dry skin to oily skin, no one is exempt. The causes of sensitive skin vary from genetics to environmental factors like stress, diet, cosmetic ingredients, allergies and pollution.

With being a busy business woman, what causes  sensitive skin can be difficult to pinpoint and even tougher to avoid. Surely, the experts don’t expect me to get 8 hours of sleep, drink 2l of water and exercise to alleviate stress… Of course not! And that is why I would like to introduce…

Dermalogica’s NEW UltraCalming Duo to take the guesswork out of the equation and treats the irritation and dehydration caused by sensitive skin.  I’m 28 and I’m trying to get him to put a ring on it and I don’t think red, inflamed skin will help my cause. I’m so thankful to innovative brands for coming up with solutions to these problems, so that I don’t have to. Each product combines the best of nature’s botanical extracts with innovation from The International Dermal Institute to powerfully soothe skin sensitivity. Sounds legit!

Whether you have mild sensitivity like me or super sensitive skin, the UltraCalming Duo is your ultimate skin care solution. These products can be layered for maximum results, or they can be used separately to address a specific concern. Best of all, they help your skin defend itself against future flare-ups. I know, you’re thinking which one do I use and how do I use it?

Step 1 – Barrier Defense Booster: This concentrated oil booster soothes and nourishes to restore balance to sensitive skin. This product can be applied to skin to help soothe mozzie bites, razor burn and sunburn. Please don’t use this product if  you have open wounds, as oil prevents healing and traps in heat. You gently push the bum of the product to get the oil to come out, a little goes a long way.

Step 2 – Calm Water Gel: This weightless water-gel moisturiser hydrates dry, sensitive skin. The unique formula transforms into a skin-quenching fluid upon application, forming a weightless barrier to help protect skin against environmental assault. Dual Hyaluronic Acid technology works in different skin surface layers to increase and lock in moisture. You can pretty much use this product as a moisturiser, it’s fabulous and everyone has been commenting on how great my skin has been looking lately. Of course, I tell them it’s looking great because I’m well hydrated and get 8 hours of sleep a night. LOL!

Ultra calming duo

I was impressed with this range, as we were able to experience and interact with the product at the launch. Then Dermalogica brought out some fancy gadget that tests the hydration levels in your skin. They tested a bloggers hand before she applied the serum and her moisture levels were at 20%, a few minutes after applying the calm water gel, the experts tested her levels again and they were at 45%. Now those are the kind of results I need to be seeing in 2018. I mean, I was shook.

Didn’t even wait until I was in the car before I started applying the gel to my face. I need to look beautiful now, not in an hours’ time, thanks. I’ve just been woke, Yass, where has this product been? I  needed this duo two years ago when I was working full time and doing my honours, but moving swiftly along.

The UltraCalming Duo will be available at Dermalogica-authorised spas, salons and skin centres, and at dermalogica.com starting in March 2018.

I know, you’re wondering Tammmmm, how much money am I going to have to outlay to get great skin like yours….
